We have just completed the lock-up stage of our home with Akoonah, and we felt it was only fair to share our experience for those looking for a builder to bring their dream home to life.
From the very beginning, James was an outstanding person to work with. He spent countless hours (many free hours of his time!!!) discussing the project with us, not only exploring how it could reflect our vision but also ensuring it aligned with our budget. I honestly don’t know anyone in the industry more patient or a better listener than James.
As soon as the build commenced, both James and the team demonstrated genuine enthusiasm, professionalism, and full transparency at every stage. One of the most reassuring aspects for us was that James was always on-site and always available. That level of personal involvement is rare, and it was one of the key reasons we chose Akoonah knowing he would be present and engaged every step of the way, unlike many other companies we had looked into.
James and his team (specially Geordie , Nathan and Wilko! Amazing job they did!) clearly take great pride in their work. Time and again, they went above and beyond what was expected. While we’re not builders ourselves, we like to think we’re more informed than the average client, and it was clear to us that everything was executed to a very high standard.
Like any build, there were some challenges, although fewer than anticipated, and in every case, James was there to listen and work collaboratively to resolve them. His calm, humble, and transparent approach made a real difference.
We are truly grateful to have had Akoonah and James as part of our journey. We’re incredibly happy with the result and look forward to seeing more beautiful homes built by them in the future.
